Another admirable correction, Trapajan restaurant stops using Buddha for decoration
Recently, Knowing Buddha Organization received notification from Buddhists who support the organization’s work in protecting Buddhism. The report suggested that Trapajan restaurant used Buddha’s image as decoration in their restaurant. In the conduct of Buddhist practice, Buddha statue can be enshrined by Buddhist for paying respect and preserving Buddhism. From religious point of view, using Buddha statue as decoration is considered very disrespectful and must be carefully considered.

For this reason, we informed the company that Buddha’s symbol should not be used for decorative purpose, and we decided to give the owner the right and proper ways to treat Buddha images. Not long after, Trapajan restaurant responded and was willing to resolve the matter. The restaurant had removed Buddha statue as decoration with admirable cooperation.

May we all be aware of this matter as a Buddhist. It is our duty when it comes to protecting and maintaining Buddhism and Buddha’s symbols. Although you are not Buddhist, proper respect is supposed to be spotted on in general. Guiding or correcting those around you who do not know would be highly appreciated.
